The Area's Largest Health, Fitness, Nutrition and Green Living Event
The area's largest event focused on health, fitness, nutrition and living green returns for the sixth year to the Knoxville Convention Center January 29-30, 2010. The Healthy Living Expo offers interactive, educational exhibits, demonstrations and presentations. Each year, Expo producers work to find new ideas, products and information. Over 130 individual companies fill more than 250 exhibits. The Expo continues to grow each year from its launch in 2005, with the five-year attendance topping 40,000.

The Natural Health pavilion presented as "Healthy Living, Healthy Planet" is sponsored by East Tennessee's Natural Awakenings magazine, with businesses that feature natural health and environmentally friendly products and services.
To promote Green Living, bring expired medications OR exchange a mercury thermometer for a FREE digital thermometer at a special booth located at the Knoxville Convention Center lobby during the Expo and receive FREE Admission! Senior Day
The Healthy Living Expo will present Senior Day with support from Knox County and other local governments. The Expo features programming focused on seniors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. January 29. See Dr. Bob Overholt of "The Dr. Bob Show", enjoy gospel music by Praise 96.3 FM, play Senior Bingo, try Tai Chi, join the Blue Walk for Men's Health and taste healthy foods — all at the Healthy Living Expo!

Prizes, Prizes, Prizes and Fun Activities
Returning Expo favorites include the Cooking Stage, Fit Family Area, Activity Stage and Walking Track. The areas feature activities and speakers offering healthy living tools, tips and techniques with prize drawings after every activity. Expo visitors have access to FREE health screenings and can participate in fitness activities at The Rush Fitness Complex pavilion. The Fit Family Area presents exhibits with information for today's families.

Cooking Stage
On the Healthy Cooking Stage, local chefs, dieticians and nutritionists demonstrate how to prepare healthy meals and offer samples of featured dishes. Exhibitors offering products or services pertaining to nutrition will surround the area, including the Healthy Grocery Store and EarhFare, all providing samplings for visitors to taste.

Activity Stage
The Activity Stage showcases fitness through movement. Demonstrations range from dance, karate and gymnastics to Pilates, kickboxing and yoga, offering entertaining and effective fitness options. Friday's special guest is local favorite Dr. Robert Overholt of "The Dr. Bob Show". Saturday's special guest is a contestant from NBC's "Biggest Loser", Tara Costa, with an inspirational healthy living story.

The Healthy Living Walking Track
The Healthy Living Walking Track, a quarter-mile indoor walking track that surrounds the Expo floor, will allow visitors the opportunity to participate in scheduled walks for PRIZES and to support local charities.

Health Screenings
Because monitoring your health is an important part of a healthy lifestyle, the Healthy Living Expo includes dozens of FREE health screenings, typically including dietary and nutritional evaluations, bone and muscle screenings, blood typing, blood pressure checks, cardiovascular screenings and hearing tests. Mammograms and other special screenings will be offered at reduced Expo prices.
Be sure to visit the University of Tennessee Medical Center Pavilion, the Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center mammography bus, Medic Blood Drive, the Chiropractic Pavilion, Tennessee Men's Health and dozens of other exhibitors for FREE or reduced price health screenings.

Fitness always takes center stage at the Expo. At The Rush Fitness Complex pavilion, visitors can try fitness challenges, exercise classes and more. Trained fitness instructors will be on hand to help attendees get their personal fitness programs back on track.
